Welcome to Goodies and Things LLC!  We are a small family business that started in our home in Gem, KS in 2017 when the 8 (of 10) children I still had living at home were wanting to get a swimming pool.  I agreed to it, if they could work to make part of the money to purchase it.  So, they baked a few things each week and we took them to the farmers market to sell.  That summer the kids made enough money to get the swimming pool that we have since enjoyed as a family.  Since then we've seen this little business grow, and give the kids opportunities to learn new skills, but being able to make a profit to pay for the cost of goods to learn those skills. Each year the kids have been able to come up with projects or trips that they'd like to do or go on and we go to work to make those wishes happen with a little (ok, maybe a lot) of hard work!  As the kids get older each year, their goals change a little of what they are wanting, but they get the opportunity to work alongside me to learn new skills, a work ethic, money management, people skills, public speaking, marketing, business management, entrepreneurial skills and much more.

In 2022, we have decided to open up a shop and kitchen in Colby, KS, and add new lines of products including ready-to-cook meals!  Each week we will have 4 new meals available on the menu including freezer, crockpot, and instant pot meals.  We strive to bring you the freshest meals possible by sourcing as much meat, produce, and other ingredients as possible locally; including growing some of it ourselves.  There will also be an assortment of homemade baked items each week like cinnamon rolls, pies, cookies, cakes, and loaves of bread too.  We will always have our other goodies like jams, jellies, and snack mixes as well.  You never know what we might come up with each week and will have seasonal items throughout the year, so you will want to check each week for what's on the menu!  Each item will be limited, so you will want to place your order and pay ahead of time, then pick up when the store is open on Friday from 4-6 pm to ensure you get the meals you want each week.  When you come to the store you will also be able to see and purchase the other things we have to offer including pressed-to-order t-shirts, sublimation tumblers, earrings, and more.
